Letter from the Program Director
On behalf of the residency program, I would like to thank you for your interest and taking the time to visit our website. Here you will discover the new and exciting opportunities that are available through our ACGME accredited residency program.
ARMC supports six ACGME accredited residency programs (Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, OB/Gyn, and Psychiatry) along with three fellowships (EMS, Critical Care and Maternal-Fetal Medicine) that are currently undergoing ACGME accreditation processes. ARMC’s diverse patient pathology, high patient census, and institutional commitment to education and community service provide our residents with excellent opportunities for learning and growth.
The Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency Program was first developed in 2004 as an AOA program. In September of 2017, we successfully transitioned to become an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine program that now supports a total of 32 residents. We have a stable group of dedicated faculty members who are committed to the program; many of them have been with us since the program first began back in 2004. As a program, we strive to educate and train our residents to be well-rounded, clinically competent, and compassionate providers and leaders in the field of Emergency Medicine.
Effective January 1, 2018, I have the honor of being named as the new ARMC Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director. I began working as an attending physician at ARMC in 1999 and have been a core faculty member since the inception of the program in 2004. I play an active role in the department administration and hospital-wide affairs, but I consider teaching and mentoring to be my most important priority and responsibility.
I am very excited to take on this new role and begin my journey as the Director of such an amazing program. It has been an absolute joy to have been a part of the training for all of our prior residency classes. I hope to continue our legacy as one of the best training programs around as we continually strive to innovate and grow together. Please take time to explore our website to get a better sense of who we are and why Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is such a great place to train.
Sincerely,
Carol H. Lee, MD, FACEP, FAAEM
ARMC EM Program Director
